Scotland has a history of fears and brilliant female warriors, who have fought bravely to preserve peace and their livelihoods. Here is a list of four female Scottish warriors.
Queen Scathach of Skye
This female was a mythical warrior who had a fortress on the Isle of Skye. She lived around 200 BC and her name in Scottish Gaelic means Shadowy. She is someone who is involved in a lot of Scottish legends because she trained many famous warriors.
Lady Christian Bruce
She is said to have lived from 1273 two 1357. She is also said to have played a very big part in the war of independence against England. She had a younger brother named Edward Bruce and another brother named Robert the Bruce.
Lady Agnes Randolph
She is often referred to as “black Agnes”. Many say she lived from 1312 to 1369. In a seizure that lasted about five months, she was able to defend Dunbar Castle from England. She was able to fight brilliantly and prevent England from taking over.
Lady Anne Farquharson
She was the wife of the man who played a big role in the uprising in 1745. She played a prominent role in fighting against the Jacobite Army.
